Not the pains of war or toothache, this collection examines the deeper mind-pain of emotion and depression. The anguish that strikes every life at one time or another with a debilitating inability to cope, which as it ebbs leaves in place questioning uncertainty. Eventually even this passes giving way to a new optimism rising phoenix like out of the ashes with an accommodation of painful personal history. Such is the state described in Ghosts perhaps personal favourite of all my poems, along with Appointment at Navarrro Beachwhich describes an earlier sense of loss.
