Decision
Our planet woke a little warmer yesterday
But did it really matter much to me?
I’d say I didn’t feel it anyway
Though perhaps tomorrow I’d begin to see
Inconvenient consequence commence
Some people seemed a little crazy on the news tonight
Others just stark staring mad
Everyone hates everyone else
With killing just an entertainment show
Our real reality spaced between the unreal kind
I’d rather hoped to find another, softer way
One not founded on a dogma and an ism
Differentiating well and ill without
While leaving space inside for inner doubt
Not fierce judgmental icy passion
I suppose it isn’t any use bewailing loss
Or hoping for a secret truce to start
It seems there just isn’t any hope
Nothing left for humans to believe in
Only, sadly, ending, with a whimper
