Daily Notes

Ears pounding, clock ticking

Songs singing tinnitus ringing

Is there any quiet anywhere?

This moment ought to be the best

first thoughtful time of wakening

fruitful, productive creative outpouring

instead of this chatter of voices

going over last night, today, the whole week

Bless me, it’s almost exasperating

When I wanted only quiet instead

While the house is quite still

The world asleep, at least not fully awake

Before all the rush and hurry begins

I wanted this time in my head

O bother it all, be still

Meditative pause with dawn light

In butterfly pose on the bed

Soft flute music breathing beside me

A tinkle on chimes sprinkled random

Setting a tone for the day

Is chasing mind-clutter away.

Go out now and live, brave heart

You conquered your dragons again
