Father Abraham

 

I’ve been thinking ‘bout the Patriarchs all week

How our father Abraham had many sons

Of how he tried to help Shaddai along

And how instead he messed it up all wrong

He only needed one to keep the promise

When he came from the Chaldees in that day

Begat the ‘ites from Hagar, Sarah’s  maid

While Sarah laughed because of her great age.

Jacob’s tricks with Laban weren’t cool either

Nor the ones with Esau all that edifying

And as for his deceiving poor old Isaac, well…

So, many sons has father Abraham

While the promises are still being kept alive

Except, there’s three religions now, not just one.
